O God, the time is short.
These days seem too few as we
prepare for the feast of the
birth of Mary's Son, Jesus.
Busy days, crowded to the brim,
with so much to do.
Show me how to open my heart
so that I might hear your voice
calling me to create an empty space
and willingness to behold you
in all that surrounds me.
Quiet me within,
Clothe me with peacefulness
that your Word once again
may take flesh, this time within me
as once it did in Mary long Advent days ago.
Amen.
